Ross Phillips is a versatile guitarist, musician, instructor and entreprenuer based in Austin, TX. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music, and has been performing professionally for nearly 20 years.
During the early part of Ross's career, he performed and recorded in a variety of settings and genres, from Christian to Country, Rock, Metal, Jazz, and Blues. He recorded and toured with multiple Top 40 Hit producing Country Artist, Mundo Earwood, and was his lead guitar player for many years. While touring with Mundo, Ross had the opportunity to accompany other great artists on stage, and played for audiences of over 15,000 on multiple occasions. Ross continues to perform in a variety of settings, and is currently in rehearsals for his 7th season at Santa's Wonderland, a Christmas theme park that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. He performs at the park nightly as a member of the house band, alongside other legendary Texas musicians and performers.
Over the past 5 years, Ross has taken it upon himself to advance his own understanding of music, and has developed a deep love for the Classical Guitar and music education along the way. In 2015 he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Music at Texas A&M University, where he studied with renowned Classical Guitarist, Dr. Isaac Bustos. From there, Ross was awarded a Graduate Assistantship at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and led their String Project Guitar Program, instructing young students ages 5-15 in a classroom setting on campus. While on hiatus from his Graduate studies, Ross accepted the Guitar Director position at the Decker Fine Arts Academy in Manor ISD, and also launched a project called GuitarEtudes.com in the same year.
He now serves as the full time Founder and CEO of etudes.co - a new and innovative music education platform that connects teachers, students, parents and institutions around the music learning experience.
Currently, Ross continues to perform across Texas, runs his company, and teaches a small group of private students from his studio-office in Austin. He occasionally teaches long distance via Skype.
